Gearbox Software pairs up with Compulsion Games to publish their upcoming game "We Happy Few" on April 13, 2018. The game finally has a specific release date and an announcement trailer to remind fans that the game will have a full version. In addition, it will be released in three editions and these are the following: Collector's set, Standard edition, and Deluxe edition----with different benefits and freebies.

On the other hand, the game's early access is just the tip of the iceberg. The full version of the game will feature new areas, weapons, items, additional story, and quests.

Players tap into three "moderately terrible" residents in Wellington Wells, telling their struggles to escape the town of Wellington Wells. Here is the announcement trailer via Gearbox Software on YouTube that reveals some game tidbits

Three editions

As mentioned above, the said game will be released in three editions. Here are the following:

  • Collector's edition

This edition is limited in quantity so the developers urge "superfans" to order it fast. This costs $149.99 and contains "Replica Bobby Mask," the "You Look Smashing" 3-tiered lamp, "Uncle Jack" alarm clock, "We Happy Few" soundtrack on Vinyl, and more.

  • Standard edition

This edition costs $59.99 and contains the copy of the game with an exclusive "Jolly Brolly" weapon.

Tier 1 Kickstarter backers will receive this for free.

  • Deluxe edition

This edition costs $79.99 and contains the copy of the game, the game's Season Pass, and the exclusive "Jolly Brolly" weapon. Tier 2 to Tier 9 Kickstarter backers can upgrade to Deluxe version for free.

The images of the freebies mentioned above are also posted on Gearbox Software's official website.

Discover Wellington Wells

The "Joy" pill, a pill that makes everyone happy and cheerful, should be taken every once in a while. Residents of Wellington Wells or "Wellies" are intoxicated by this pill, which makes them flimsy and whimsical to players. Players have two choices: first, they can take and swallow the "Joy" pill to see a vibrant and colorful world free of problems or refuse and view the real perspective of Wellington Wells, a sad and terrifying place.

Refusing to take the pill will result in consequences if players aren't keen enough to blend in. The environment is "procedurally generated," which means that players always experience new things. Detection should be avoided and they must learn to blend in with the others by faking their emotions. Otherwise, punishment awaits them.

We Happy Few will be released on August 13, 2018, next year, on the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. Along with the three console releases, there will be three editions to choose from. This game presents the sugar-coated horror that resides deep within Wellington Wells, a quaint town with hidden secrets.
