With the release of the highly anticipated "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" fast approaching, Naughty Dog has just released another trailer for the upcoming standalone game, PlayStation Lifestyle reported. It features Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross, the two main protagonists in the game, in swashbuckling adventures. Despite being only 30 seconds long, the trailer affords for a closer look at all the dangerous missions the two women are set to face when the game arrives this August 22.

In the upcoming standalone game that spun off from "Uncharted 4," the two women will be facing some dangerous missions, as the game is set to tell the back story of the playable character, Chloe Frazer. Making Chloe the main protagonist of this standalone game was an interesting choice for Naughty Dog, given that the entire "Uncharted" series took on a very masculine approach, with Nathan Drake in the forefront of the story. This time, players will get to play as Chloe, aided by Nadine Ross.

New trailer features massive action sequences

The new trailer for "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" opens with Chloe Frazer and Nadine Ross stumbling upon a rocky forest, flanked by waterfalls on every corner.

The pair then proceeds to traverse the rocky terrain, falling off cliffs and evading foes on helicopters. The trailer also showcases a night scene, in which the pair are hunted down in what looks like a shack. There are also lots of running, hanging off steep edges, and running from jeeps that are firing after them. Check out the trailer below.

Why Naughty Dog chose Chloe Frazer

In a recent interview with the PlayStation Blog (via Rolling Stone), Naughty Dog creative director Shaun Escayg explained how the studio came to the decision to put Chloe Frazer in the forefront of it all. He shared that in "Uncharted 2 and 3," the character was one who "always bailed out when things got tough" and "chose self-preservation over heroism." The team wanted to tell the story of why Chloe is the way she is, and in doing so, they had to pair her up with the "worst" possible character, Nadine Ross.

The "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" director explained that Nadine is "pragmatic" whereas Chloe is "enigmatic," and they both find common ground in the desire for "self-preservation." The question now is, "Will these characters betray each other or will they stick it out?"

Gameplay highly dependent on Chloe and Nadine's relationship

Naughty Dog recently explained that in "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy," the gameplay will be highly dependent on whether or not Chloe and Nadine could work together. In fact, the studio explained that if they didn't get along, Nadine may also opt to go her own way, making it even more difficult for the player to go through the game without Nadine's help. "Uncharted: The Lost Legacy" arrives to PlayStation 4 on August 22.
