Ubisoft mapped out plans and revealed the first official details on the impending Hong Kong Season 3 for Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege.” It also rolled out a new update that lays the foundation for the new season that will kick off in late August.

The third season of the popular tactical shooter is about to go live within the next few weeks, however, Ubisoft has yet to announce the exact start date and time. But the game publisher already revealed the first official details to know about Hong Kong Season 3 for “Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six Siege” such as the file size and several things to expect.

File Size

Players will need to free up a huge chunk of their storage space. Apparently, they need 15GB of free space to download the new season of the game on PS4 and Xbox One when it becomes available.

Ubisoft explained that the reason why the Y2S3.0 patch size is as heavy as it is. It said that it planned on adjusting the foundation for the upcoming patches and establishing the latest patch as the new baseline and so, there is the need to replace a sufficient number of the current data forges.

On the brighter side of things, it assured fans that the Season 3 update will decrease the size of future patches by 15 percent as well as improve the load times.

In addition, players will see an upgrade in the game’s servers during Season 3.

Ubisoft also said that the Peer to Peer voice and party features will now be deleted while a LAN mode on PS4 will be added.

Update 2.2.2 is live

Ubisoft released the Update 2.2.2 as the final suite of Operation Health changes before Season 3 Title Update comes out in the next few weeks.

One of the notable changes is the dedicated servers for custom matches and terrorist hunt.

Players will no longer suffer the woes of getting disconnected from the servers if ever the host drops out.

With the latest patch, there are also new dedicated servers for in-game voice with Vivox integration that will enable high-quality voice communication. It brought tons of bug fixes and gameplay tweaks outlined via the official blog.

"Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege" is available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC. Year 2 Hong Kong Season 3 will introduce the Theme Park map and three new operators.
