To further elevate the hype for its upcoming seventh generation Pokémon games, the Pokémon Company has now announced a brand evolution for one of the title's newest Pokémon, Lycanroc. Aside from the Midday and Midnight evolutions of Lycanroc in "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon moon," players will soon be able to evolve their Rockruff into a brand new form, namely its new Dusk Form. The new form has been revealed to become fully available when "Pokémon Ultra Sun" and "Pokémon Ultra Moon" arrives later this year.

New evolution

As of the moment, Rockruff is only able to transform into either Lycanroc Midday or Lycanroc Midnight when it reaches level 25.

The Midday transformation is only achieved when a Rockruff is evolved during the day, while the Midnight transformation is achieved when evolving at night. The Dusk transformation, on the other hand, follows the same logic, which means that a Dusk Form transformation is achieved when evolving a Rockruff during dusk.

Possible new forms

It can also be assumed that more forms may be coming that are all based on the time of day of the creature's evolution. This might mean that the game could include a Dawn transformation as well, although that is still not yet confirmed. Lycanroc's different forms only sport slight variations in the creature's design, which means that it may be very easy for the game's developers to introduce new evolutions within the game if they wanted to.

The hype is real

Players who have already caught all of the Pokémon in "Pokémon Sun" and "Pokémon Moon" are undoubtedly quite excited with the upcoming arrival of the two follow up games. Game Freak has already revealed that the games will be sporting some brand new Pokémon that players will be able to catch, train, and evolve.

The mascot for the two games, namely Solgaleo and Lunala, have already been revealed to sport two new evolutions, which will see them sporting black armor cladding that looks quite similar to the armor on the legendary Pokémon Necrozma. The upcoming game will still be set in the same world as its predecessors but will sport a brand new storyline.

"Pokémon Ultra Sun" and "Pokémon Ultra Moon" were originally announced at the recently held Nintendo Direct presentation. Both games are scheduled to be released for the Nintendo 3DS on Nov. 17.
