"Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon" is slated to hit the store shelves in November and according to multiple sources, the next 3DS installments in the series will mark the arrival of a brand new Pokemon.
New variation revealed
The Pokemon Company recently announced the third form for Lycanroc, a dusk form, via a blog post on its official website.
The new Dusk Form Lycanroc will join Midnight Form and Midday Form, which are basically the other two forms for the creature, and were introduced in "Pokemon Sun and Moon," last year.
The recently divulged Pokemon evolves from Rockruff, but its form primarily depends on the time of day you level up Rockruff and the Pokemon's version.
The announcement made clear that players will not be able to get their hands on Dusk Form Lycanroc without deviating from traditional methods, such as ferreting out the coveted Pokemon in the wild.
More details about the new creature
It is imperative for players to bear in mind that the Dusk Form Lycanroc will exclusively be available in "Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon." According to Gamespot, it is the third iteration of the wolf Pokemon.
According to the Pokemon Company, Dusk Form Lycanroc's body and eye colors are relatively different from those of previously spotted Lycanroc, Midday Form and Midnight Form.
How to acquire Lycanroc’s new Dusk Form
There are a couple of Lycanroc's forms that are currently up for grabs, but players must have "Pokemon Sun and Moon" to get the duo.
By raising a Rockruff either to level 25 or even higher during the day in "Pokemon Sun," it will evolve into Midday Form of Lycanroc. You can get its Midnight Form by leveling Rockruff up in "Pokemon Moon" at night. Interestingly, there's a Lycanroc form for each time of the day except dawn.
According to Mic, players are likely to receive a Dawn Form of the creature too.
But it's worth noting that the game developer has not yet confirmed this officially. In other words, it is quite possible that players might just be getting a single new form.
While the Midday Form bears a striking resemblance to a wolf, the Midnight Form takes the look of a werewolf. There's a possibility, the Dusk Form, which adopts features from the Midday and Midnight forms, is a balanced pairing of the two.
