Those who currently own the original “Mega Man Legacy Collection,” or “Rockman Classic Collection” in Japan, will be glad to know that Capcom has just announced a brand new game collection that will essentially complete the set of games released two years ago.
The brand new video game compilation called the “Mega Man Legacy Collection 2” will contain the rest of the four games that were not found on the original release. This basically completes all of the ten titles that were released for the main classic series, which all started with the original “Mega Man” released for the Nintendo Entertainment System (NES) in 1987.
Games included
The brand new compilation sequel will contain the main title in the series from “Mega Man 7” up to “Mega Man 10.” The seventh main installment in the series was originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System (SNES) back in 1995. It was then followed by the eighth installment, which was released for the original Sony PlayStation in 1997. The ninth and tenth installment was released in 2010 for the previous generation gaming systems, but they were designed to emulate the look and design of the original NES titles.

The original series
The classic “Mega Man” series is considered to the origin of the story for the entire franchise.
The series itself has spawned numerous sequel series and spin-offs, which now include over 50 games across different platforms including the Nintendo Game Boy, Sega Genesis, Sega Game Gear, and other gaming systems.
Completing the set
The original collection, which was released back in 2015, contained the original six games in the main series.
Collectors will likely want to pick up the compilation sequel if they want to own all of the games that were released in the main classic “Mega Man” series.
Additionally, Capcom has thrown in a number of modern features within the new collection, which should be a welcomed bonus for diehard fans of the franchise. Aside from the four titles, the collection will include a full soundtrack sound room, brand new challenges and leaderboards, and a new library that will include the backstories of each and every character in the franchise.
The “Mega Man Legacy Collection 2” is scheduled to be released on Aug 8. The compilation will be made available for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC via Steam.
