"The Simpsons" has been on the air for decades. The TV show is one of the most famous American shows of all-time. As loyal fans know, the show focuses on the central characters of Homer, Marge, Bart, Maggie, and Lisa. It takes place in the fictional town of Springfield.
There is some very interesting news, as the iconic convenience store from the show (Kwik-E-Mart) opened in South Carolina.
The store perfectly mirrors the fictional store upon which it is based, and customers can find some very interesting treats there as well.
Food and drinks done right
The iconic Kwik-E-Mart serves food that "The Simpsons" show is known for around the globe, including Heat-Lamp Hot Dogs, Squishees that come in a variety of flavors, and the signature Lard Lad Donuts. It also has Buzz Cola, Duff Beer, and Flaming Moe's energy drinks, according to Delish.
Fans can now indulge in these drinks (and food) that the show is known for. Along with this, this is the first-ever Kwik-E-Mart anywhere in the world.
Many fans will likely make the trip to see just how this real-life store stacks up to its fictional counterpart.
Aside from selling food, the article mentions that the store also sells memorabilia relating to fans' favorite characters from the TV show. Many fans have already taken to Instagram to share the excitement of eating some donuts and having a Squishee. The series definitely has a huge fan base that consists of people of all ages.
The show's legacy and themed cinema
Along with the store that actually makes the donuts identical to the show, Krispy Kreme announced not too long ago that they were going to sell Homer Simpson's hot pink-sprinkled donuts that he eats regularly on the television show.
According to NME: "The store is also next door to a 'Simpsons'-themed cinema called the 'Aztec Theater' just like in the show." The themed cinema is another welcome addition for fans as it is set to arrive later this year. The theater is also slated to offer a "4D Simpsons movie experience."
As fans of the show would know, the mart belongs to Apu, the owner of the chain in the show. The use of the character in the series has drawn some criticism in the past for the way that Indian culture is depicted, however. Many see the depiction as racist and stereotypical.
NME goes on to mention how the show is not ending anytime soon, as reports indicate that a new movie is in production as the show is set to air its 30th season this fall.
