On July 4, The Basketball Tournament (TBT) will return. According to ESPN, it will be a 10-day tournament with 24 teams that will take place in Columbus, Ohio.
Some of the players who will take part will be familiar names to big fans of the NBA. Here are 13 of the more notable former NBA players who will take part in the tournament which includes a seven-time All-Star. Jimmer Fredette is not listed as he has not confirmed if he will take part, and Trey Burke denied the rumor that he will play for Carmen’s Crew.
Bobby Brown, Overseas Elite
Brown went 6.5 years between NBA appearances (returned in 2016 after last playing in March of 2010) and played 45 games total for the Rockets in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

Markel Brown, Stillwater Stars
As a rookie, Brown started 29 of his 47 appearances in 2014-15 with the Nets and reached double figures in scoring six times.

Dwight Buycks, Golden Eagles
Undrafted in 2011, Buycks appeared in parts of three seasons with three different teams (Raptors, Lakers, and Pistons) and last played in the NBA for Detroit in 2017-18 averaging 7.4 points in 29 games.

Nick Calathes, Team Hines
A EuroLeague longtime veteran, Calathes did play in 129 games for the Grizzlies in 2013-14 and 2014-15.

Austin Daye, The Money Team
Selected 15th overall in 2009, Daye played five years in the NBA and averaged career-bests of 7.5 points and 3.8 rebounds in 2010-11.

Travis Diener, Golden Eagles
It has been more than a decade since Diener appeared in the NBA, but he was a solid role player for the Pacers in 2007-08 averaging 6.9 points and 3.8 assists.

Chris McCullough, Boeheim’s Army
Selected late in the first round in 2015, McCullough averaged 1.2 steals in his 24 games as a rookie with the Nets in 2015-16 despite playing just 15.1 minutes a game.
