Every year, the best offensive players at each position from each league get recognized by being awarded with a Silver Slugger award. Here are the American Silver Slugger award winners and how they did.
Mitch Garver- C (MIN)
In 93 games, Garver hit 31 HR while slashing .273/.365/.630.
Carlos Santana- 1B (CLE)
After having a down year with the Phillies in 2018, Santana was traded back to where it all started and rebounded with one of the best years of his career. He appeared in all but four games and posted career-high numbers in RBI (94), batting average (.281), OPS (.911) and tied his career-high in HR (34).
D.J. LeMahieu- 2B (NYY)
Many thought LeMahieu would have a hard time adjusting being away from Coors Field, but he did the complete opposite. With the Yankees, he had the best season of his career as he hit 26 HR with 102 RBIs while slashing .327/.375/.518
Alex Bregman- 3B (HOU)
Bregman is a candidate to take home the MVP award by having the best season of his young career. Bregman hit 41 HR, collected 112 RBIs, and slashed .296/.423/.592.

Mike Trout- OF (LAA)
The greatness of Mike Trout never seems to be slowing down. Trout captured his seventh career Silver Slugger award by hitting a career-high 45 HR, picking up 104 RBIs and slashing .291/.438/.645 while playing in only 134 games. He is a candidate for the MVP award.
George Springer- OF (HOU)
Springer seemed like a potential MVP candidate as he got off to a hot start at the beginning of the season, but an injury limited him to 122 games. He did have the best season of his career by hitting 39 HR, 96 RBIs, and slashing .292/.391/.524.
Mookie Betts- OF (BOS)
Betts hit 29 HR while putting up a slash line of .295/.391/.524.
Nelson Cruz- DH (MIN)
At the age of 39, where most players at that age are struggling to find a team to play for, Cruz had a monster season by bashing 41 HR, 108 RBI, and slashing a career-best .311/.392/.639. He posted a career-high OPS of 1.031.
