The offseason in Major League Baseball takes place over the whole year with moves happening every once in a while. There are signings, players getting non-tendered, and releases. This offseason, as always, teams will look to move on from some of their players for future assets. Here are players from the American League that could find themselves in a different uniform before the 2021 season gets underway.

1

John Means

In 2020, Means went 2-4 with a 4.53 ERA and an opponent average of .220. He posted a 3.60 ERA in 2019 and could fit in the back of a better team's rotation.

2

Blake Snell

The Rays are listening to offers on Snell and it would sure take a king's ransom to get him. He went 4-2 with a 3.24 ERA, striking out 63 in 50 innings pitched. He's owed $39 million until the 2023 season.

3

Francisco Lindor

The Indians are moving on from Lindor as he's too expensive for them to keep. In 2020, Lindor slashed .258/.335/.415 with 61 hits. In his career, he's slashed .285/.346/.488 with 138 HR, 896 hits, and 99 SB. He's been linked to the Blue Jays.

4

Carlos Carrasco

While he hasn't been mentioned in trade talks, Carrasco could be moved for the Indians to cut costs as he's owed $38 million until the 2023 season. Last season, he went 3-4 with a 2.91 ERA while striking out 82 compared to 55 hits given up in 68 innings pitched.

5

Danny Duffy

Duffy went 4-4 with a 4.95 ERA. He's owed $15.5 million for the 2021 season. The Royals will need to eat some money if they were to move him.

6

Kyle Seager

Seager started off the 2020 season hot but eventually cooled down to slash .241/.355/.433 over the whole season while bringing in 40 runs. He's owed $18 million for the 2021 season and comes with a $15 million club option for 2022. The Mariners will definitely have to cover some salary in order to move him.

7

Joey Gallo

Gallo slashed .181/.301/.378 with 10 HR in 2020. He has a career slugging percentage of .499. A team in need of a power bat could explore trading for him.
