As any NBA fan will tell you, this offseason has been insane. Star players such as Kevin Durant, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, Kyrie Irving, Russell Westbrook, Al Horford, Jimmy Butler, Chris Paul, and Anthony Davis all changed teams.
While much of the dust has settled in this offsesson’s free agency, there are still a few well-known players who are out there for the taking. Here are 10 notable free agents that still remain unsigned.
Carmelo Anthony
It took just 10 games last season for the Rockets to decide that Anthony shouldn’t be part of their future plans, and he hasn’t latched onto a new team since. The 35-year-old is a ten-time All-Star whose 25,551 career points are the 19th-most in NBA history.
Vince Carter
The 42-year-old Carter has stated he wants to play one more season. If he does, it would be his 22nd in the league which nobody has ever accomplished. He averaged 7.4 points and shot 38.9 percent on three-point tries last season for the Hawks.
Jamal Crawford
Crawford, the only player to ever win Sixth Man of the Year three times, sits just 586 points away from 20,000 in his career. According to The Score, the 39-year-old became the oldest player to ever score at least 50 in a game last season when he dropped 51 points for the Suns on April 9.
Kenneth Faried
The 29-year-old Faried played a large role for the Rockets (more so in the regular season) after he was waived by the Nets in January. He posted impressive averages of 12.9 points and 8.2 rebounds while averaging 24.4 minutes in 25 games for Houston.
Jeremy Lin
Turning 31 on August 23, Lin just won his first NBA title last season with the Raptors (he did just play 27 minutes in the postseason though). He did average 10.7 points in 51 games with the Hawks prior to being bought out and joining Toronto.
Shaun Livingston
Livingston (turns 34 on September 11) spent the previous five seasons with the Warriors and won three championships with them. He was a key reserve during his Golden State tenure and according to 24/7 Sports, he believes joining the Clippers, the team that drafted him in 2004, would be an ideal fit.
Joakim Noah
After two tumultuous seasons with the Knicks, the 34-year-old Noah was a productive reserve big man for the Grizzlies in 2018-19. The 2013-14 Defensive Player of the Year ended with averages of 7.1 points and 5.7 rebounds in 42 outings last season.
Iman Shumpert
The 29-year-old Shumpert was a member of the Cavaliers team that won it all in the 2015-16 season and averaged 13.6 minutes per game in last season’s playoffs with the Rockets. Spending time with both the Kings and Houston last season, he averaged 7.5 points, three rebounds, and one steal.
J.R. Smith
Smith left the Cavaliers after just 11 games last season as he wasn’t a fit for their clear rebuild. Turning 34 on September 9, he hopes to find a role as an outside shooter on a contending team as his 1,929 career made three-pointers are the 13th-most in NBA history.
Lance Stephenson
Stephenson, who turns 29 on September 9, was a teammate of LeBron James last season with the Lakers (the same James whose ear Stephenson infamously blew into in the playoffs). In 2018-19, he went on to average 7.2 points, 3.2 rebounds, and 2.1 assists.
