Palpatine has returned
The most surprising reveal in the new trailer for Episode IX was the sound of Palpatine's evil laugh. He's back, in what has become a shock to Star Wars fans. We don't know yet in what capacity he will return, he could be just a memory or actually play a nefarious role in the new film.
The heroes are back together
At the end of the trailer, we can see Rey leading his group of Poe, Finn, C-3P0,BB-8 and the new droid pal D0.
Rey and Kylo Ren destined for a serious showdown
Episode IX will definitely be the time to settle the score in epic fashion with a showdown between Rey and Kylo.

Kylo reforging helmet
Kylo Ren is reforging his helmet, which could also hint that other things are being re-forged in the film.
The Title - "The Rise of Skywalker"
The trailer begins with Luke telling Rey that she will carry the torch of the Jedi way forward. Luke speaks near the end of the trailer saying that nobody is ever really gone.
