Javy continues hot streak that started in Spring Training
Cubs fans have been hoping that Javier Baez's 2018 was not a mirage. So far so good. After finishing spring training red hot, the Chicago shortstop was the first to get his team on the board with a solo shot. He later hit a three run dinger. That first homer was on a pitch he had no business hitting.

Contreras still looks like 2018 Contreras
It wasn't all good news for the Cubs. Willson Contreras is still hitting too many ground balls. The good news is that he's still got a cannon for an arm.

Bryant looked really good
Not only did the Cubs third baseman hit a nice groundout that scored a run earlier in the game, he also blasted a homer later in the game that looked effortless. If his power stroke is back, this team gets better quick.
