When it comes to the No. 1 scoring leader, compared to the rest of the bunch, it's not a close race right now. However, all five of these NBA scoring leaders are known for putting up big points and helping their teams win games. Below are the top five scorers, before January 23 games for the 2018-19 NBA season.
James Harden - Houston Rockets
To say James Harden has been putting on a stretch of impressive performances is an understatement. As of one night ago, Harden scored at least 30 points in a game for his 20th in a row. He currently leads the league with an average of 35.7 points per game, which is better than the No. 2 scorer by over six points a game.

Anthony Davis - New Orleans Pelicans
The Pelicans' big man has been out due to injury lately, but is still second overall in scoring. Back in November, he put up 43 points and 17 rebounds in a game seen in the highlight clip below. Davis is averaging 29.3 points per game, right now.
