The playoffs have started and it's all about the quarterback. Several of the quarterbacks attempting to win a Super Bowl have reached their 40s. Tom Brady is turning 42 this summer and is expected to play another season. Chargers star Philip Rivers is turning 38 next season and New Orleans legend Drew Brees is 38 next season. This postseason features all three of these signal-callers, as well as several newcomers, who are here to stay for a while.
These are five of the quarterbacks who need to win Super Bowl LIII the most.
Patrick Mahomes - Kansas City Chiefs
Patrick Mahomes is already leaving his mark on the NFL, and is possibly the best quarterback of his generation. Mahomes has already made his case for MVP this season. He's tied Brady's touchdown total from 2007 with 50 touchdowns. Mahomes stands out by being a first-year starter.
Dak Prescott - Dallas Cowboys
Dak Prescott is feeling the pressure, as part of the powerful offense of the Cowboys. Dallas enters the divisional round with the top scoring defense of playoff teams. However, the Cowboys have the worst offense among the teams in the playoffs. The Cowboys reaching the Super Bowl would be a serious upset, but would require them to topple the Rams on the road. Prescott enters his final year of his contract in 2019, and doing well in the playoffs would help him earn a new deal.
