The NBA season is here with a vengeance, as some teams are looking downright difficult to handle. That includes the Toronto Raptors who have lost just one game so far. Meanwhile, other teams are fighting and clawing their way to be considered among the best eight in their conference. On Wednesday, November 7, fans saw some mighty performances on the hardwood including two-near triple-doubles and a variety of double-doubles.
Hassan Whiteside - Miami Heat
On a night where many stars had double-doubles, Whiteside achieved one of the most impressive lines. The Heat center scored 29 points, while also collecting 20 rebounds, in a 95-88 home win against the San Antonio Spurs, Wednesday night. What's even more impressive is that Whiteside fell one block short of a triple-double, after recording a game-high nine, compared to eight total, for the Spurs.

Anthony Davis - New Orleans Pelicans
Another of the double-double performers in the top five was Anthony Davis. The New Orleans Pelicans star scored 32 points, grabbed 15 rebounds, and dished out seven assists. His Pelicans team is now 5-6,after a 107-98 win over the Chicago Bulls.

LeBron James - Los Angeles Lakers
King James was just one assist shy of another career triple-double. More importantly for LeBron and the Lakers, it was their fifth win of the season. James recorded 24 points, 10 rebounds, and nine assists to lead the way to victory.

Kawhi Leonard - Toronto Raptors
Small forward Kawhi Leonard continues to show his value for the Toronto Raptors. Wednesday night's performance included 25 points and 11 boards, as well as two assists. Leonard helped the Raptors improve to 11-1 on their season, with 114-105 victory over Sacramento.

Andre Drummond - Detroit Pistons
Yet another big man in the top five, and yet another impressive double-double. Drummond led the Detroit Pistons to victory with his 23 points, 19 rebounds, and three steals. He's managed to collect 19 or more boards in three of his past four games too, so watch out!
