With the Thanksgiving and Black Friday holiday period, families weren't just eating or shopping, they were also seeing movies. That was a big deal for a few animated films which raked it in at the box office, as well as several other hit sequels. Here's a look at the top five (per Box Office Mojo) in terms of revenue earned from November 23 to 25.
Ralph Breaks the Internet
It didn't break the record set by another Disney film, "Frozen," but it still cashed in big time at the box office. The sequel to "Wreck-It Ralph" made over $55.6 million for the weekend period at theaters.

Creed II (Rocky franchise)
The sequel to "Creed" is also another installment in the popular "Rocky" franchise of films. This time around, Adonis Creed battles the son of a familiar opponent for his father. "Creed 2" took in an estimated $35.293 million at the box office this weekend.

Dr. Seuss' The Grinch
The remake of the animated classic brings the popular green grinch back to the screen for families to watch. It's been holding its own despite the two newcomers as "Grinch" took in $30.21 million this weekend.

Fantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald
This return to Hogwarts is a sequel to "Fantastic Beasts" and is considered a prequel within the "Harry Potter" franchise. The latest J.K. Rowling entry took in $29.65 million over the past three days.

Bohemian Rhapsody
"Rhapsody" tells part of the story of the late Freddie Mercury and his pop/rock band Queen. It is now the only musical biopic in the top five as "A Star is Born" fell out this weekend. "Rhapsody" generated $13.855 million for its latest outing at the box office.
