The Nebraska Cornhuskers are rolling, however, don’t tell that to head coach Scott Frost. While Frost is more than excited that his team rolled over Illinois on Saturday, he knows that the Huskers can truly get some national attention if they can defeat the Michigan State Spartans next Saturday in Lincoln.
Does Big Red have a shot against MSU in their final home game of the season? Absolutely, and here’s how and why they do!
It's a home game
The Huskers are 3-3 at home, while they carry a 0-4 mark on the road. Add to that, that they have played much better over the course of the past month, they will be more than ready to tackle the Spartans.
Good ol momentum
Winners of three of the last four games, with the only loss coming at Ohio State by just five points, momentum is riding high in Lincoln for the first time this season.
Adrian Martinez
The Freshman continues to impress, and his ability to run and pass the ball effectively, will keep the MSU defense guessing the entire game.
Start strong
Cliche? Yes, but so very true. Even in the Huskers' close road losses to Northwestern and Ohio State, Nebraska started strong and played well the entire game.
Different directions
One month ago, it was the Spartans who were surging with dreams of a Big Ten title. Now, Michigan State is just laying out the string. While Sparty will get a bowl invite, the zip has seemed to leave their sails. The Huskers can finish the season 5-7, after starting 0-6, which would be incredible. Right now, Nebraska is playing better and they have a great shot at defeating MSU this Saturday.
