5 keys to the game for Nebraska basketball against SE Louisiana

The Huskers will be looking for another solid win against a cupcake before the tough stretch begins.

The Nebraska basketball team is back in action on Sunday afternoon. The team is expected to win again, which means we have to look outside the record for what we should be looking for against SE Louisiana.

Get everyone involved

In the Huskers' 69-point win last week, Tim Miles was able to empty the bench. That included meaningful minutes for players like Nana Akenten. Look for the Cornhuskers to try and run out the score again in order to keep getting young players big minutes.

James Palmer Jr. needs a better game

Yes JPJ finished with 17 points and five assists, but on the whole, it was an off game. The Nebraska basketball team needs to see him dominate games like this if he's going to be the guy who leads them against the good teams.

Keep hitting threes

The Nebraska basketball team has been talking a lot about the importance of hitting the 3-pointers. In their exhibition game against Wayne State, they couldn't get anything to fall. Against MVSU, they 40 percent (15-370 from long range. More of that, please!

Is Glynn Watson Jr. back?

After what can only be described as an awful season for Glynn Watson Jr, there's hope he's back. He shot just 34 percent from the field in the 2017-18 season. It was a year-long slump. In the Huskers first game of this season, he scored 19 points and shot 70 percent from the field. He won't be that hot today, but 40 percent or better is indeed realistic against SE Louisiana.

No Peeking

This is the second straight very obvious cupcake on the schedule. On Wednesday, Seton Hall will come to town. The Pirates are a good sight better than either of these two opponents. If Nebraska wants to keep rolling, they need to win and win handily on Sunday and not worry about Wednesday until Wednesday.
