People love to get away from the hustle and bustle of routine life and opt to go to exotic locations to let down their hair. California's Yosemite National Park is one such destination where the tourists flock in large numbers to enjoy the bounties of nature. The hills, cliffs, and valleys tempt them to explore the wild and, at times, the over-enthusiastic ones take risks. These could be dangerous and two more deaths are proof that. In their enthusiasm, they forget to take the necessary precautions and end up at the bottom of the mountains.

Sky News reports about two tourists who fell off the edge of Taft Point, a popular cliff in the Yosemite National Park.

Another tourist spotted the bodies of a man and a woman. An official of the park has confirmed this. Park rangers are trying to recover the remains and are investigating the circumstances that led to this tragedy.

Danger at every step in Yosemite Park

The absence of adequate railings is a matter of concern. Tourists who arrive to enjoy the breathtaking views of the valley often go to the edge of the cliff and invite danger. The views are mesmerizing especially of the Yosemite Falls and El Capitan, and the rock fissures that plunge to the valley floor.

The desire to get a closer look has proved fatal for many. Sky News goes on to add that in the current year, more than 10 people have died at the park. The lookout point is at 3,000ft above the famed Yosemite Valley floor and the only protection available for the tourists are railings on a small section. Obviously, everyone must tread with caution so that he (or she) can share the experience with others at a later date.

Yosemite Park and loss of lives

According to Independent UK, Park rangers are trying to retrieve the two bodies and ascertain their identities. Preliminary investigation shows they lost their footing and fell to their deaths from a popular overlook at California's Yosemite National Park. This point is Taft Point, and its elevation is 7,500 feet.

It is a popular hiking trail and a destination to watch the sunrise and sunset. People come here to not just be in the midst of nature and carry back pleasant memories but also to do something out of the ordinary. Like proposing marriage – it happened recently - and the photo of the couple's marriage proposal has gone viral. An official of the park has admitted that there have been several tragedies this year. The bottom line is to pay attention to safety because one’s own life is at stake, and one wrong step could mean death.
