Six must add week 7 fantasy football waiver wire pickups

Several fantasy players are worth adding in week 7 of the season, especially with four teams on bye.

Last week, we previewed five of the best waiver wire additions [VIDEO] for week 6. Included on that list was Wendell Smallwood, who led the Eagles in rushing yards against the Giants. Moving forward, Smallwood will likely have the majority role in an Eagles offense that is slowly improving. In the week prior [VIDEO], I recommended picking up Taylor Gabriel, who exploded for 110 yards on five catches in the Dolphins game. Gabriel is a must-add at this point. Here are six other must-add players for week 7 of the fantasy football season.

Dallas Cowboys WR Cole Beasley (8.4 Percent Ownership)

The Cowboys offense finally decided to start playing football in week 6 against the Jaguars. Dak Prescott had a big day and Cole Beasley was the major beneficiary as the Cowboys racked up 40 points on an elite Jaguars defense. Beasley ended his day with 9 catches for 101 yards and two touchdowns. After this game, he should continue to be the focal point of the Dallas passing attack, giving him real fantasy value moving forward.

Indianapolis Colts RB Marlon Mack (26.4 Percent Ownership)

Most were expecting a quiet return to action for Marlon Mack against a tough Jets defense. Instead, Mack ran for 89 yards on just 12 carries and was the clear lead back in the Colts offense. Now that he's back from injury, Mack could easily become a top 15 running back in an explosive Colts offense. He's worth an addition from the waiver wire.

Arizona Cardinals WR Christian Kirk (13.9 % Ownership)

Kirk finished week 5 with three catches, for 85 yards and a touchdown, but nobody really took notice. Fantasy owners should notice Kirk now after he caught 6 passes for 77 yards, leading all Cardinals in receiving yardage. Josh Rosen is clearly a fan of Kirk's, and that can translate into fantasy production, especially when the Cardinals are playing from behind.

Miami Dolphins RB Frank Gore (11.4 % Ownership)

Kenyan Drake ceded to Frank Gore on Sunday, who rumbled for 101 yards on just 15 carries. The talented veteran could be in line for even more work moving forward thanks to a goal line fumble by Kenyan Drake. With such limited options at running back, Frank Gore should be considered a must-add player in all leagues where he is available for week 7.

Indianapolis Colts D/ST (7.1 % Ownership)

The Colts are not normally a fantasy defense that should be started. However, the Colts happen to be playing a Bills offense that is scoring at a record low pace. Josh Allen was banged up in a game against the Texans, and Nathan Peterman, who ended his last game with a pick six, will likely get the start if he does not play. The Colts are the safest defense to play in week 7, even after giving up 42 points to the Jets.

NYJ Kicker Jason Myers (0.9% Ownership ) and DAL K Brett Maher (4.9% Ownership)

Normally kickers do not get any fantasy attention, but Myers and Maher had days worth noticing. Jason Myers kicked a whopping seven field goals through the goal posts, ending his day with a ridiculous 27 fantasy points. If you're lacking a quality kicker, Myers is worth adding, considering how often the Jets offense stalls in the red zone. The same can be said for Brett Maher, who has not missed a field goal since week 1 of the NFL season.
