Christian Yelich - Brewers
The man who is frontrunner for National League MVP continues to do his thing for Milwaukee. Yelich got his team on the board early, by smashing the ball out of the park in the third. With that, the Brewers took the early 2-0 lead, which held for most of the game.

Charlie Blackmon - Rockies
The Rockies needed a ninth inning rally to get back into this first game of the NLDS. After singles by Parra and Holiday, Blackmon got the party started with his RBI single to right field. With Parra at second base, he managed to round the bases all the way to score, cutting the lead down to a run.

Nolan Arenado - Rockies
The next batter continued the rally. With Blackmon and Hampson on base it was time for some Arenado heroics. He would hit a high sacrifice fly out to center field. With that, Hampson was able to score the game-tying run, which ultimately set up extra innings. At the very least, it made things quite interesting in Game 1 of this series.

The Brewers bullpen
There wasn't necessarily one pitcher who stood out with a stellar performance in the game. Instead, it was a combined effort that took the work of six different pitchers. The Milwaukee bullpen limited the Rockies to four hits and two runs in the game. In particular, Woodruff, Burnes, and Hader combined for nine strikeouts, one hit allowed, and zero runs given up. In the end, Joakim Soria took the win as he was on the mound prior to the walk-off RBI single.
Great work by Brandon Woodruff

Mike Moustakas - Brewers
There had to be a hero for one of the two teams, as the game moved into extra innings. That hero came in the bottom of the tenth in the form of Mike Moustakas. With two outs, Moustakas came to the plate and connected on a single to right field. With Christian Yelich on third, he was able to score the winning run. The Brewers now lead the series 1-0.
