Many of you out there who are Anime fans, will remember the time when you first saw your first anime and got hooked. Although there are a plethora of phenomenal anime's out there that you can view, I've narrowed down the list to the top 3 anime shows you should Watch to test the waters and see if Anime is your cup of tea. Most of these shows are less than 50 episodes and vary from action to supernatural in genre.
'Death Note': A 37 episode supernatural suspense-thriller
This is the one anime I have personally made a lot of non-anime fans watch and converted them.
The story revolves around Yagami Light, a high school student who finds a mysterious notebook that has supernatural powers. After realizing that the notebook allows him to kill anyone by simply writing their name in it (with a added few rules) he embarks on a journey to cleanse the world of all criminals. From the eccentric acts of L and Ryuk to the single minded determination and ruthlessness that Yagami Light pursues his goal with, it is an action packed story. The battle of wits between Light and L, a detective who is trying to stop him will keep you on the edge of your seat.
'Code Geass': Superpowers and mind games
What does it take to overthrow an Empire? If given power, can one man do it by himself?
"Code Geass" is a two part series comprised of 25 episodes each. The show depicts the journey of "Lelouch vi Britannia" former prince of the Britannian empire (a superpower that has conquered most of the world) as he tries to overthrow the Britannian empire. The show, according to me has one of the most beautiful endings, with all the small details coming together in the end.
With only 50 episodes in total, Code Geass is a must-watch for everyone.
'Btoom': 12 Episodes of an action-packed bomb-only survival game
WIth only 12 episodes to its name, "Btoom" is a classic example of how Japanese manga artists can make even the most simple concepts extremely interesting. Btoom is the story of a Ryota, a young man who is one of the world's top players of the combat game called Btoom.
In the game, you are only allowed to use BIMS or high tech bombs. Each of these bombs have different characteristics (implosion bomb, time bomb etc). After suddenly waking up on a tropical island, Ryota meets a stranger and realizes (the hard way) that he is in a real life game of Btoom. Being an expert player of the game, Ryoto quickly defeats his enemy and embarks on a journey to survive the island and find his way out.
The anime's listed above are personal suggestions to anyone who isn't fond of watching animated series. As each of them are less than 50 episodes, you can be sure that you won't find any filler episodes in them! Although there are plenty of other anime out there, for people who are just starting off, I would suggest you try something short and intense to see if it suits you.
