They lost the game by just one goal to nil but that was a humiliating defeat for Chelsea for many reasons.

Poor first-half for Chelsea

Crystal Palace was hosting Chelsea in front of their fans and they had to win the game as they had already lost seven of seven games in the Premier League, and another defeat means a new record in the Premier League for the worst start of the campaign.

The Eagles had so much to prove in the game. The game started in their favor as Chelsea’s full-back player, Cesar Azpilicueta, scored an own-goal in the 11th minute. But defending champions bounced back and managed to find an early equalizer in the 18th minute.

Both teams came up with frequent attacks but neither could find their second goal. Before the end of the first-half, Crystal Palace scored their second goal with the help of the striker, Wilfried Zaha.

Chelsea in hunt of the equalizer

The Blues came in the second-half to find the equalizer, whereas the Eagles came to keep defending champions at bay and win the first game of the season. Crystal Palace dominated the game for the early few minutes. Antonio Conte substituted the striker, Michy Batshuayi and the right-winger, Willian with Pedro and Musonda. Chelsea managed many times to break Crystal Palace’s defense but couldn’t score a goal.Chelsea took 12 shots in the second-half but only managed to keep four of them on target. Impressive goalkeeping and defense lead the Eagles to their first win in the Premier League as the Blued couldn’t find the net in the second-half.

Crystal Palace managed to halt their losing streak against defending champions. Antonio Conte is under lots of heat after this defeat. He told in an interview before the start of the season, “ This transfer window hasn’t gone the way we wanted. I could be the next manager to be sacked after winning the Premier League.” Many people though Conte was kidding but now it seems he was telling the truth.
