After years of waiting, fans were able to watch the much-awaited “Attack On Titan” season 2. Although the excitement just short-lived, the people behind the popular anime have guaranteed the third season next year. With only a few months away for the next season, the team has released new teasers and updates.
Kyoji Asano, director of character design and animation, released a new sketch of the Survey Corps members. The design shows Armin Arlert, Bertolt Hoover, Connie Springer, Erwin Smith, Eren Yeager, Hange Zoe, Historia, Jean Kirstein, Levi Ackerman, Mikasa Ackerman, Reiner Braun, Reiss, Sasha Blouse, and Ymir.
Although the faith of Ymir was undisclosed in season 2 after Reiner and Bertolt took her, other characters featured in the sketch are still alive.
Is Eren the mysterious Amputee-kun?
Meanwhile, the manga revealed a major make-over for Eren. Chapter 97 revealed the popular fan theory that the mysterious person is Even Jaeger, who is hiding under the name of Eren Kruger.
The new character was given a different look that kept fans talking about it non-stop. With thinning beard and mustache, the character revealed eyes similar to those of Eren. However, his gaze was different. This is possible as humans who become Titan shifters can only have 13 years to live. Once they are reaching their limit, they will start to age rapidly.
More secrets to be revealed
“Attack on Titan” season 3 will also reveal the reason why people are transforming into titans. The Beast Titan, also known as Zeke Yeager or Eren’s older half-brother might reveal the secret of the Titans. Zeke’s mother, Dina Yeager, is also Grisha’s first wife. She is the person behind the Smiling Titan who ate Eren’s mother during the first attack of the Titans in the first episode.
Eren to put an end to danger?
Eren’s power was also activated during the season finale. The Founding Titan or the power to control the Titans was partially used, and he is yet to know the real powers behind it. The third season might also reveal how his father, Grisha Yeager, purposely injected him with the Titan serum and sacrificed himself by letting Eren eat him so that his son can put an end to the danger that all Titans and the Royal Family possess.
Release date
“Attack on Titan” season 3 will give more twists and turns. Although it’s confirmed to be released by 2018, the exact date is yet to be announced by Viz Media and Funimation.
