George RR Martin previously claimed that he is yet to finish the novel. However, recent reports are claiming that “TWOW” could be launched to accord with the final installment of the “Game of Thrones” TV series.

The Sun reported that “The Winds of Winter” novel might be released when “Game of Thrones” comes to a close.
According to the news outlet, George RR Martin is popularly known for taking his time when writing his books.
The 68-year-old New Mexican author previously vowed to his fans that he is focusing more on finishing the book this year. Martin even claimed that he would not be writing new series until he completes the ridiculously overdue novel.
George RR Martin even complained about not having enough time to his hobbies such as watching movies and reading books. I’ve been working so much of late that I have fallen way behind in my reading (sob) and my filmgoing…” the brain behind the “Game of Thrones” saga went on.
While the official release date of “The Winds of Winter” is not set in stone yet, The Sun claimed that Martin vaguely hinted he might have finally completed the novel.
However, the veteran writer was quick to debunk the claims and said that he is still working on it at the moment.
“I do think you will have a Westeros book from me in 2018…” George RR Martin wrote on his blog. He even added that the sixth book of the “A Song of Ice and Fire” series might come out along with the first installment of the “Fire and Blood” saga.
What to expect in the ‘TWOW’ book?
Meanwhile, DigitalSpy shared that George RR Martin already teased a total of nine “The Winds of Winter” chapters to the public. While few excerpts were cut from the “A Dance with Dragons” book, most are from the highly-anticipated novel.
Among the characters mentioned in these chapters include Arya Stark, Sansa Stark, Theon Greyjoy, Victarion Greyjoy, Aeron Greyjoy, Arianne Martell, Barristan Selmy and Tyrion Lannister.
The publication added that Jon Snow could come back in the book after he was pronounced dead in the previous installments.
George RR Martin also claimed that “The Winds of Winter” will “parallel” the show in some parts. He emphasized that some dead characters on the show are alive in the books; hence, it’s kind of impossible for it to be the same with each other. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
