For the first time, singer cum actor Harry Styles has shared his experience about Christopher Nolan’s upcoming film “Dunkirk.”

The 23-year-old reveals that it was tough to shoot the underwater sequences for the movie. As “Dunkirk” is his first Hollywood project, Harry seems to be ready to take any risk. This is why he chose to shoot the underwater sequences himself and did not seek the help of a stuntman.

According to Harry Styles, he had to spend some minutes under the water while shooting a sequence. He wore his swimming costume and adopted all precautions, but the temperature was too low, so it became difficult for Styles to survive for long in the sea.

Harry Styles and his debut film

A week before the shooting began, producer Emma Thomas called Harry to discuss all new sequences. He was amazed to hear that Emma has plans to hire a stuntman for an underwater sequence. Harry Styles, however, chose to do those scenes himself. He told The Hollywood Reporter that he did not know swimming and had to learn it before starting the work. The “Sign of the Times” singer credits Emma Thomas for such a fantastic and superb script.

In a recent interview with “Little White Lies,” Styles said that he learned swimming two weeks before shooting the water sequences. He was conscious about his safety and security, but the filmmaker assured that there is nothing to worry about.

It was a relief to know that he had so much to do on the film. Harry chose to shoot almost all action sequences himself and did not seek the help of a professional.

When will the film release?

Alongside his appearance in “Dunkirk,” Harry Styles is set to release a new album. In the United States and England, over 231,000 copies of his previous albums were successfully sold.

“Dunkirk” is scheduled to be released on July 21, 2017. The film is written and directed by Christopher Nola, set during World War II. Efforts have been made to create a story full of suspense, comedy, romance, and action. For this, the script and dialogues have been co-written by Nolan. Principal photography began in May 2016, in Paris and Chicago.

In addition to Harry Styles, “Dunkirk” stars Fionn Whitehead, Cillian Murphy, Kenneth Branagh, James Arcy, Jack Lowden, and Mark Rylance. The casting was finalized in late 2015, and several scenes have been shot in Netherlands and New York City. Warner Bros. acquires the US and Canada distribution rights. “Dunkirk” is projected to gross over $35 million in its opening weekend.
