There has been a lot of gaming news about Bioware these days, with the latest about its newly announced IP, the “Anthem.“ However, this newly revealed fantasy game isn’t the only game currently in the works at BioWare. The studio is reportedly planning a new “Dragon Age” game.
For years, the “#Dragon Age” development team has been quiet on the subject of the new game. But last month, it was reported that game writer Alexis Kennedy has been working on a new game.
The last game in the series, the “Dragon Age: Inquisition, “ has been released in 2014, so expect fans to wonder when the next installment may be announced.
The Edmonton, Canada-based studio has been busy working with “#Mass Effect: Andromeda” in the past few days. But now something new is about to happen, the focus has shipped, this time it's pointing toward the high fantasy RPG “Dragon Age.”
BioWare’s director dropped a hint about a new fantasy game
According to ScreenRant, the Canada-based studio might be planning a follow-up to the "Dragon Age: Inquisition,” the company’s high-fantasy role-playing game that was first introduced in 2009. Series director Mike Laidlaw has reportedly dropped a hint that suggesting that the studio might be planning a new entry for the popular fantasy game series.
The high-fantasy RPG has received positive reviews for the series’ last game, the “Dragon Age: Inquisition, ” which was released on 2014 and since then fans have been waiting for the developer’s next plan for the fantasy game series.
Fortunately, the series director has managed to drop some good hints about the game series during its interview on The 1099 podcast, where he said that something is happening on “Dragon Age.” The director has even gone to confirm that BioWare is currently in the process of hiring lot of experienced people. Reports said that Laidlaw might try to refer something connected to the game series, possibly a sequel.
While the series director didn’t go into any specifics about the rumored project, it’s still clear that the BioWare team is might likely be ramping up production team for a new Dragon Age game considering they are hiring a lot of experienced people.

The news about the new game has no longer surprise the gaming world considering the developer’s strong track record of releasing their main games roughly every two or three years, with the first release of the game in 2009, followed by the second entry in 2011 and the last game “Inquisition” in 2014.
By making a simple math and just following their track record, the world might be due for a new game sometime this year.
In addition to the sequel, the Creative Director has also made some comment about some other projects the studio is currently working on. He said that BioWare has other exciting projects in the pipeline.
Aside from “Dragon Age” series, the studio is also known for its work on the widely popular Mass Effect series and their multiplayer online RPG “Star Wars: The One Republic.”
For now, fans would need to wait for official words about the fantasy franchise. If they lucky enough, they might see the first teaser of the game at E3 2018. But fans shouldn’t expect it to come soon as BioWare still working on some big projects, which include “Anthem,” the studio’s new game series.
First released in November 2014, “Dragon Age: Inquisition” is a high fantasy action role-playing game (RPG) series developed by BioWare for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. It’s the thirds installment and the last game in the “Dragon Age” game series.
