It’s a boy! Prince William, Duke of Cambridge, and Catherine, Duchess Of Cambridge, welcomed their healthy 8lb. 7oz son into the world on Monday, Kensington Palace announced. Her Royal Highness, Duchess of Cambridge, went into labor with the royal couple’s third child at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Hospital in Paddington, west London.

Kensington Palace took to Twitter to announce the arrival of the newest royal prince in a statement: “The Queen, The Duke of Edinburgh, The Prince of Wales, The Duchess of Cornwall, Prince Harry and members of both families have been informed and are delighted with the news.”

Prince William left the hospital early to pick up his two children from their home in Kensington, and brought them back to the hospital to meet their newest baby brother.

Walking hand-in-hand with their father, Prince George was still wearing his school uniform and Princesses Charlotte was wearing a blue flowery dress. Charlotte wore an eager and excited smile to meet her brother.

The newest royal member is already receiving recognition worldwide, including from British Prime Minister Theresa May. Mrs. May took to Twitter with a statement that read: “My warmest congratulations to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge on the birth of their baby boy. I wish them great happiness for the future."

What will be the name of the newest royal heir?

There has been no information given to the public on what the prince’s name will be. According to The Sun, a British journalism magazine, the British monarchy tends to stick to traditional names.

The Sun speculated on royal traditional names such as Arthur, James, Albert, or Philip.

Prince William had a slip-up earlier this month, announcing that the baby might be a boy. He said in a statement, “I’m going to insist the baby is called Jack.” Then, realizing his mistake, he added quickly, “Or Jackie.” Prince William’s football team Aston Villa had a match with rivals Cardiff City, and it was after Jack Grealish scored that Prince William made his slip-up.

The royal family will also welcome another new family member

It is less than a month away from the royal wedding between Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. Meghan Markle, an American actress, will be tying the knot with Prince Harry, Duke of York. The royal family will not be out of the spotlight for long, since it is predicted that the wedding between the two lovers will be the grandest event of the year.
