Tiger Woods took to his Twitter to post a photo of a note he wrote down to announce more about the professional help he is receiving regarding the management of his medications and getting assistance for his back pains and sleeping disorder.

The announcement came weeks after he was arrested for suspicion of driving under the influence. The golf player went on to thank people for their outpouring of support and understanding. The star did not have alcohol in his system when he was arrested but suffered from an unexpected reaction to his prescribed medications.

The arraignment of Woods for his latest arrest was originally scheduled early in July but was later moved to August.

Tiger Woods still recovering from April back surgery

The golf star, who has won 14 times as a major champion, is still recovering from his back surgery back in April. The arrest came more than a month after the surgery. The 41-year-old was asleep at the wheel of his car when he was arrested. He was miles away from his home in Jupiter, Florida.

The agent of Woods, Mark Steinberg, said after the announcement regarding getting professional help, that his client is receiving in-patient treatment and has been dealing with a lot of pain physically. Steinberg added that the physical pains led to insomnia and sleep issues.

He also claimed that Woods decided to get professional help after he was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence. gh6

The April surgery was the fourth back operation Woods underwent in a period of just three years. Also last month, Woods talked about the nerve pain he has been suffering from via a lengthy website post.

He noted that he has felt relief after the last back surgery he had but Steinberg said it is a complicated process and there’s no way of saying whether or not his back pains will be fully treated soon.

First Surgery

The first surgery of Woods was on March 31, 2014. His second was on September 2015 and the third was in October or November of 2015.

He had not competed for more than a year until the Hero World Challenge in December 2016. He was not able to attend the Farmers Insurance Open the following month and only played one round at the European Tour event in Dubai a week after. He left the event in Dubai a day after due to back pains.

Woods is said to be hopeful that he will get back to playing in golf tournaments and win championships again. He did not say when he is expected to make a comeback or what tournaments he is planning to join.
