The UAE’s next ambitious project is to build a city on another planet.
According to the details, scientists in the UAE have started a project to build a couple of cities on Mars. This is not the first time when scientists have shown interest in building new colonies on Mars. The United Arab Emirates claims that the city would be built within 100 years. It would not be wrong to say that the UAE has achieved remarkable success after building lots of skyscrapers in Dubai. Prime Minister, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has revealed that he and his companions are ambitious about relocating to another planet.
‘Mars 2117’ project
"We have named the project as "Mars 2117." Currently, a team of scientists is sent to Mars to investigate whether its atmosphere is suitable for human beings or not. We aim to create a mini-Dubai on Mars. For this, we have invited NASA’s experts so that something innovative can be created,” the prime minister said. “The project is a seed we would sow today to reap the fruits of new generations led by a passion for science and technology. Shortly, our children would gain advanced human knowledge rather than studying traditional books. Of course, logistically speaking, building a city on Mars is not going to be easy. We would have to face a lot of challenges. The UAE is already famous for its grandiose projects, so we would have no problem as we are ambitious and ready to work hard,” he added.
The UAE and NASA to work together
In 2014, the UAE showed its interest to build a city on Mars. Now for the first time, NASA has agreed to collaborate with Dubai’s expert geologists, and soon they would begin working on a range of space projects. “We are not one talking about colonizing Mars. We’ve seen that NASA’s space experts are also interested in such projects.
We want a future where we don’t get restricted to one planet for our survival. We cannot sit and wait for some eventual extinction event. So, the UAE and NASA have shaken hands, and are now preparing for a bright future,” Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum said.
This effort would focus on preparing human beings to travel to distant planets. If proven successful, the project would also create an integrated scientific visualization of transportation on Mars.
