If reports are to be believed, Microsoft Surface phone might make its debut soon. The smartphone will help Microsoft to enter the high-end phone market segment. The rumors in social media are floating regarding the launch of the phone by early 2018. The phone will compete with the likes of Samsung Galaxy S8, Galaxy Note, Apple Iphone X and iPhone 8. It is worth noting that Samsung's upcoming flagship (top end) device, Galaxy S9 is also rumored to launch in January 2018.

Surface Phone is speculated to come up with top-notch specs and features. The handset could mark a unique foldable design, the first of its kind.

Meanwhile, it is also possible that the smartphone might have an AMOLED edge-to-edge display with the aluminum body design.

What company has to say?

In November 2016, Forbes reported that Microsoft CEO, Satya Nadella said while referring to the Surface Phone, that Microsoft has the intention of building the “ultimate mobile device” ever. It is clear from the statement that the US tech giant is in no hurry and wants to surprise everyone with its upcoming smartphone. Notably, Microsoft had filed a few patents earlier this year.

Expected specs and features of Surface Phone

The upcoming high-end smartphone might come up with a 3D camera which will be similar to Apple iPhone X. If this happens, Microsoft will surely give its competitors a run for their money.

Another highlight is likely to be the dual-lens (coupled with the 3D feature).

On the hardware front, the handset might have an IP68 certified water and dust resistant body. According to wccftech, Surface Phone will have a Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 processor to give a tough fight to the iPhone X's A11 Bionic chip.

Wccftech further reported that Microsoft recently published a position at a job website requiring a ‘Hardware Test Engineer’ or ‘Manufacturing Engineer.’ The engineer will help to fit the processor in the device.

The company is speculated to be in talks with other tech giants to feature the Andromeda (OS) on the phone.

Surface Phone is expected to run 6GB RAM with 256GB internal memory. Another feature which users will find useful is the Surface Pen with the phone, much like Galaxy S-Pen in Note 8. There is no confirmation received from the company so far regarding the official launch of the phone. As far as price is concerned, the handset is likely to cost around $1000 - $1200. Stay tuned for more information regarding technology.
