There is a growing trend in smartphones, as 18:9 aspect ratio displays are slowly becoming the norm with handhelds. LG spearheaded this trend when they released their G6 earlier this year and Samsung unveiled their own months later with the Galaxy S8.

Recently, Apple and Google announced their flagship devices – iPhone X and Pixel 2 XL respectively, which will also feature the same 18:9 aspect ratio displays. It’s safe to say that this type of display will be the future of smartphones.

With that being said, here are more handheld devices that will reportedly feature 18:9 aspect ratio displays.

OnePlus 5T

According to a report by Android Authority, they’ve come across an article saying that the new OnePlus smartphone will feature the same taller display – the OnePlus 5T. However, they did mention that people should take this information with a grain of salt as nothing is yet to be confirmed by the smartphone company.

The OnePlus 5T is rumored to come with a 6-inch display with 2160 x 1080 display screen, noted Android Authority. A website called GizmoChina leaked a supposed image of the upcoming OnePlus device. However, Authority noted that the leaked photo resembles a rendered image of the OPPO F5, which means the photo most likely will not be the final design of the OnePlus 5T.

Moreover, the 5T might feature the Snapdragon 835 chipset since Qualcomm has no immediate plans on releasing the 836 version.

Honor 7X

GSM Arena reported that the new Honor 7X might also feature the same screen with an 18:9 aspect ratio, based on a listing shown on a Chinese regulatory website called Tenaa.

Furthermore, the Honor 7X will reportedly feature a 6-inch display with a resolution of 2160 x 1080. Under the hood, the device will be powered by a Kirin processor with 4GB of RAM to match.

The 7X will also boast a dual camera setup, with a 16MP camera at the back, combined with a 2MP depth camera, while an 8MP shooter at the front.

The device will come with a 64GB internal storage, which is expandable with the use of a microSD card. And lastly, the 7X will sport a 3240mAh battery.

Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 released

Meanwhile, the Xiaomi Mi Mix 2 has been released in India and will be available globally in the first week of November, according to a report by NDTV.

The smartphone also has a bezel-less, 5.99-inch 18:9 full HD display. It has the latest Snapdragon 835 chipset combined with 6GB of RAM. However, the front-facing 5MP camera is awkwardly placed at the bottom of the screen. It does come with a 3,400mAh battery, which means the device can last a whole day without being charged with minimal use.
