Some people who purchased Apple’s latest iPhone 8 or 8 Plus, experienced a rather annoying problem. A number of new iPhone owners could hear crackling sounds while making a call. However, Apple just rolled out a new software update to deal with the issue.

The Cupertino-based tech company acknowledged last week that the firm was aware of the issue and that the crackling sound problem was affecting a few iPhone owners. They added that a software update will fix the issue. However, the crackling sound issue affected iPhone owners around the world under different carriers.

Users who needed to make a call had to utilize a speaker option or headphones to stop the static noise.

Many users of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus claimed that the crackling noises started straight after Apple launched the new smartphones. At first, several users believed it was a hardware problem for the reason that not all iPhones were affected.

However, Apple claims that the iOS 11.0.2 software update will come along with several improvements and bug fixes for iPad and iPhone, which should also deal with the crackling issue. The 11.0.2 software update also fixes an issue that hides photos as well as the problem with S/MIME encrypted emails. The tech firm accelerated the bug fix and released the 11.0.2 update so that Apple device users won’t have to wait for 11.1 version of iOS.

All iOS 11 device users can now get the new software update, according to 9to5 Mac.

Before installing the 11.0.2 software update, Apple device users are recommended to backed up their device. Users are also advised to have a good Wi-Fi connection. According to Mac Rumors, Apple device users can install the update by heading to the Settings app, General and then Software Update.

After that, tap the Download and Install link.

Software’s features

Apple announced the iOS 11 mobile operating system at the company’s event last month and it was made available to the public to coincide with the latest iPhone 8 and 8 Plus smartphones. The software is available with a smarter Siri digital assistant, a Do Not Disturb While Driving feature, and an enhanced Control Center.

One of the operating system’s biggest features is the augmented reality technology.

Apple Pay feature

While iOS 11 came in hard with numerous features, the company did not release its improved Apple Pay feature. The firm announced that the Apple Pay improvements will be available in the operating system’s upcoming updates.
