Apple released the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus on September 22 this year. They serve as the refreshed models for last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, respectively. However, these new handsets do not come cheap, which is why many fans may not be able to afford them. For these consumers, Best Buy has now come up with a deal through which they can purchase last year’s iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus at an attractive discount.
What does the deal include?
The discount is being offered only on the (PRODUCT) RED variants of the handsets. The red versions of the handsets were released in March 2017, which was nearly six months from the launch of other color variants of the phone.
Best Buy is offering carrier locked variants of both the phones at a discount of $150 from its original price.
However, the monthly payment plans for each of the carriers are different. The AT&T model of the smaller Apple handset entails a monthly payment of $16.66 during this deal, while without the deal the consumers had to pay $21.67 per month. Similarly, the carrier-locked version of the bigger version is being offered at payments of $20.66 per month. However, it is important to note that AT&T-locked Apple phone customers will have to make the monthly payments for 30 months.
Sprint's version of the smaller Apple device is available at monthly payments of $20.83, while the bigger model from the same carrier is offered at $25.83 per month.
Finally, Verizon’s iteration of the smaller iPhone can be acquired by making $20.79 payments per month and the Plus model entails a payment of $25.79 each month. For Verizon and Sprint, customers have to pay more per month when compared to AT&T models, but it is important to note that the former two carriers will engage the customer in a 24-month payment plan, while consumers will have to pay AT&T for 30 months.
Specs of last year's Apple smartphones
Both the Apple mobile phones sport nearly the same specs as that of the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus, respectively. The only major difference is that that last year’s devices come with the quad-core A10 Fusion chipset, which is slower than the A11 Bionic chip that is found in this year’s refreshed handsets.
Apart from this, the iPhone 7 sports a single rear 12-megapixel camera, while the iPhone 7 Plus sports a dual 12-megapixel sensor on the back. The new Apple smartphones are said to include a smaller battery than their predecessors but they offer the same usage to customers.
