Apple announced its iOS 11 mobile operating system during the company’s launch event on September 12. The operating system will come along with interface tweaks and new features to the iPhones and iPads.

Apple will roll out its iOS 11 on September 19, according to Express. The Cupertino-based tech company didn't provide a specific time for the release, but it usually arrives around 10 a.m. Pacific Time (PT). Apple device users can check the update manually by heading to Settings, General and then Software Update.

Apple’s iOS 11 operating system will come along with a Do Not Disturb while driving feature, easily free up storage, notes is a lot more useful, Siri AI with more natural voice, new Control Center, hidden dark mode, drag-and-drop from app to app, new file management system, screenshots and screen recording.

However, Apple device users are highly recommended to back up their files before downloading the new operating system.

Do Not Disturb While Driving feature

After installing the new operating system, a setup screen will prompt the Apple device user if he/she want to enable the Do Not Disturb While Driving feature. If the user refuses to enable the feature during setup, the user can still enable it by heading to Settings and then Do Not Disturb. Then, Apple device users can set the feature to turn on automatically.

A major software upgrade like the iOS 11 can usually take up to 30 minutes to download. Nonetheless, if the servers of the tech company are under heavy load, downloading the update might take an hour or two.

Not every annual software update of the company is compatible with older hardware. The iOS 11 is only compatible with iPhone 5s, iPhone 6, 6, iPhone 6S, 6S Plus, 5s, SE, iPhone 7 and 7 Plus.

The latest mobile operating system is compatible with the fifth-gen iPad, iPad Air, iPad Air 2, iPad Pro 9.7-inch, iPad Pro 10.5-inch as well as the iPad Pro 12.9-inch.

The iOS 11 is also compatible with iPad Mini 2, 3 and 4.

iOS 11 rolling out without Apple Pay Cash feature

Meanwhile, in Apple’s blog post, the operating system will arrive without the Apple Pay Cash feature. This feature is iPhone and iPad’s latest money transfer system. The feature was part of the mobile operating system until the tech company decided to launch it this Fall.

Apple Pay users will be able to securely and safely send or receive money from family or friends. When Apple device users get paid, they can use the fund immediately.
