Apple has not yet released its brand new operating system, the iOS11. Reports suggest that the OS includes a reference to the iPhone X and two iPhone 8 smartphones. The OS will reportedly be released next week. Previously it was widely anticipated that Apple would release an iPhone X, one iPhone 7s and 7s Plus and the iPhone 8.

There has been an unexpected leak from the Cupertino tech giant, and it is related to the final version of the OS, known as the golden master.

The major leak also provides details of a new face recognition system for user authentication. Leaks are coming thick and fine, even though there have been reports that the tech company has set up an anti-leak task force to check leaks.

Third generation Apple Watch?

The leaked material also has an image of a possible third generation Apple Watch with a cellular connection. The gadget may have a bright red digital crown and will be capable of making calls over LTE. It will share a phone number with an iPhone.

New navigation system

Leaked images hidden within the update also hints at a fresh navigation bar on the next iPhone.

This bar is set to replace the Home button with a new set of gestures. A longer pull upwards will bring up the app switcher, and a gentle one upwards will display the Home screen. The code that has been leaked shows portrait lighting for the camera. There is a reference to animated emojis for iMessage and also to two Apple Bluetooth AirPod versions, reports The Australian.

Macrumors and 9to5Mac first reported the leaks. It has been a long wait for Apple fans for this year’s mega iPhone. The event is scheduled for Sept. 12 when fans are expected to throng the newly built Apple Park. Thus, the last three iPhones that will be unveiled at the event are iPhone X, iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.

iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus and iPhone X

The two “8” editions will come with minor updates in camera and processor. They could be released with LCD panels. This is expected to bring down the production cost. However, the “X” version will be the anniversary edition and will be the expensive one, featuring an OLED display. The fingerprint scanner will be replaced by a 3D face recognition scanner.

The smartphone maker may introduce animated emoji characters that can mirror users’ facial expression. As edge-to-edge displays are already a norm, the iPhone X may also feature such a display. Stay tuned on Blasting News for more updates on Apple phones and gadgets.
