Xiaomi introduced its much-awaited Mi Max 2 smartphone last month. At the time of its launch, the device was only available in gold color option. Customers were quite disappointed to realize that they don't have much of a choice when it comes to the color of the smartphone.
Xiaomi has now launched the Matte Black color version of Mi Max 2 smartphone. As the users may already know, the said smartphone serves as the successor to last year’s Mi Max. The latest version equips upgraded specifications and features. The latest smartphone is the mid-range device of the company.
Initial launch starting from Hong Kong
According to a report published by BGR, Xiaomi seems to have introduced the new color variant only in Hong Kong as of now. The latest colored smartphone is available for sale in markets of Hong Kong.
The company hasn’t made any official comments regarding when it plans on launching the latest version in other markets and if they will even consider a global roll-out of the same. There have been many rumors that have hinted that Xiaomi is planning on bringing its Xiaomi Mi Max 2 smartphone sometime in July in India. Therefore, it is highly possible that the smartphones are launched in both the color variants in July.
Specs and features of Xiaomi Mi Max 2
As for the specifications, the smartphone continues its legacy by packing in a decent-sized phablet with a powerful battery.
The device features a 6.44-inch full HD (1080 pixels) display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. The smartphone is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 625 octa-core chipset along with Adreno 506 GPU.
The smartphone comes in two storage variants, namely 64GB and 128GB ROMs. However, the latest Matte Black version is only available in the Matte Black version.
The device packs 4GB RAM for both the storage variants. On the camera front, the smartphone packs a 12MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, f/2.2 aperture along with a 5MP front snapper.
The smartphone features a massive 5,300mAh battery with Quick charge 3.0 technology support. The connectivity options on this smartphone include 4G VoLTE, USB Type-C port, Bluetooth, dual-SIM capability, Wi-Fi, and others.
As for the price of the smartphone, the Xiaomi Mi Max 2 ranges around HKD 1,899 i.e. approximately $250. The smartphone is expected to launch sometime on 23rd July in India. Let’s see if that actually turns out to be true. Stay tuned.
