Consumers who were patiently waiting for Motorola to share some images and details about the Moto X4 can finally be at ease. Thanks to Evan Blass, also known as @evleaks, has apparently shared what is believed to be the official press renders of the new smartphone model. Moreover, he listed some of the relevant specifications along with the images.
Design and build quality
The leaked images of the Motorola Moto X4 seem to showcase a premium-looking handset that features a metal and glass body. Its front side is graced with what looks to be a dual-LED flash and front-facing camera.
The bottom half of its display bears an oval-shaped fingerprint sensor that is most likely set in between two capacitive buttons.
On its rear panel lies a dual-camera setup that is horizontally-mounted with its LED flash module right below. The entire imaging section is set with a polished metallic ring and appears to sit on a slight bump along its back cover. The entire panel seems to covered in a scratch resistant glass (most likely a Corning Gorilla Glass variant similar to its display panel up front). The Motorola logo boldly occupies the center part just below the primary camera.
Unfortunately, the press renders only featured shots of the front and back portion of the Moto X4, which is slightly at an angle.
So the finer details of its frames are hidden from view except for the right side which flaunts its power key. However, we can safely assume that the volume rocker will be positioned on the left side possibly along with its SIM tray. The top portion is most likely bare, but the bottom will surely house a speaker grille, a 3.5mm audio jack, a microphone pinhole, and its USB Type-C charging port.
Hardware and other details
The renowned tipster also shared some of the specifications that come with the Motorola Moto X4. The handset will apparently run on Android 7.1.1 Nougat out of the box and rely on a 2.2GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 CPU. Its RAM is around 4GB along with a 64GB internal memory that is expandable via a Micro SD slot.
The almost bezel-less display is measured to be 5.2-inches in size and boasts a full-HD resolution.
The phone's front-mounted fingerprint sensor will supposedly support gestures similar to the Moto Z2 Play and other new Motorola models. Imaging-wise, the Moto X4 will carry a dual-camera setup that uses a 12-megapixel and 8-megapixel combo for its primary shooter. Meanwhile, selfies will be handled by its 16-megapixel front-facing sensor. Its power will come from a non-removable 3000mAh battery, while everything will be kept safe by its IP68-rated protection. The press render image currently only shows a gold color variant but consumers can expect other shades to be available.
