Honor, the budget arm of Huawei has launched the much-awaited Honor 8 Pro smartphone in Inda, according to Android Authority. When the market is flooded with competitors such as OnePlus and Samsung, the company has made a brave attempt by introducing a smartphone with premium features at a competitive price. Launched in Europe early 2017, the smartphone is packed with premium features and specifications.

Display

Honor 8 Pro features a 5.7-inch QHD (1440 x 2560) LTPS IPS display with a pixel density of 515 PPI. The display also includes advanced features such as 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection.

The addition of Quad HD helps you to read more content easily and can be used for web browsing, app navigation and much more.

Performance

When it comes to the internals, the Honor 8 Pro is equipped with a Kirin 960 processor, Mali-G71 graphics, 6GB RAM, 128GB expandable internal storage. You will be able to play games without any lags including the ability to store plenty of data without microSD card due to large default disk space.

Camera

On the rear, you will find the presence of a dual 12MP camera with support for hybrid autofocus and dual-tone flash. You have access to both RGB and monochrome sensors. With f/2.2 aperture, you will be able to capture 2K videos at 30fps and FHD videos at 60 fps.

On the front, the handset ships with an 8MP sensor coupled with f/2.0 aperture alongside the ability to capture FHD videos at 30 fps.

Battery

The highlight of Honor 8 Pro is the integration of a 4000mAh battery with fast charging support. Moreover, the product package includes an ultra-fast 18W charger, which helps you to charge the device quickly.

Operating Platform

If you buy Honor 8 Pro, you will work with EMUI 5.1, which is based on Android 7.0 Nougat. You can experience the features such as split-screen, improved multitasking, enhanced notifications including several power saving features.

Connectivity

In addition, to support all the latest sensors and technologies, the handset features a fingerprint sensor on the rear.

With a thickness of 7mm, the device measures 184 grams in weight.

Pricing and availability

Honor has fixed the cost by taking into account all the factors including competition. The Pro version of Honor 8 will be available on July 10 exclusively via Amazon India at $465 (INR 29,990). Interestingly, the sale coincides with the Amazon Prime Day. As you can see, the handset has been priced well below the cost of the much-hyped OnePlus 5.
