Apple is gearing up to integrate Oled Display with the upcoming premium variant of the iPhone 8. However, the standard models will continue to ship with the LED display. According to sources close to the Cupertino-based tech giant, the product team is planning to infuse OLED display for all models starting from 2018. Hence, you can expect the new display in the rumored iPhone 9 and iPhone 9 Plus.

If the company decides to infuse OLED display, then it will ditch the traditional LED display. With OLED display, you will be able to experience enhanced clarity when compared with the conventional IPS displays.

Apple inks deal with Samsung and LG

The rumor assumes great significance with the Tim Cook-owned company has entered into a partnership with Samsung and LG for the manufacturing of OLED display panels. Moreover, Samsung has reportedly established an exclusive manufacturing plant for the production of OLED panels.

According to industry analysts, there will be an acute shortage of OLED panels if Apple decides to make use of it in all iPhones starting from 2018. The makers need to spruce up the production to a large extent to cater to the huge demands.

That said, you need not have to expect OLED panel in the standard variant of iPhone 8. The premium model will provide a high screen-to-body ratio alongside iconic physical home button.

iPhone with OLED display expected to delay

There are rumors that Apple will launch iPhone 8 in both 4.7-inch and 5.5-inch in September. However, few sources mention that the company will release the handsets with the naming iPhone 7s and iPhone 7s Plus. Moreover, the 5.8-inch model of iPhone 8 will offer OLED display but the availability will be delayed beyond November 2017.

Based on the previous reports, the iPhone manufacturer was actually scheduled to integrate a bezel-less curved OLED display. However, due to unforeseen delays in the supply chain, the company decided to shift to traditional AMOLED display for the forthcoming model of the iOS-loaded phone.

High expectations

The integration of an OLED display will help the company to reduce the overall dimensions of the device.

Moreover, you will work with iOS 11 with several improvements to photography, Apple Pay and Siri including reloaded Apple Maps.

You can also expect the addition of the next-generation Apple A11 processor, wireless charging, a newly designed dual camera including a fingerprint sensor below the screen. The upcoming iPhone 8 will have an improved battery apart from new color variants.

As of this writing, we don't have any reliable information about the expected pricing of the iPhone. With the infusion of the OLED panel, be prepared to keep $1000 ready.
