Samsung’s Galaxy Note 8 is perhaps one of the most anticipated devices of the year and fans have been waiting patiently for the company to unveil the phablet. However, Samsung has remained tight-lipped about the handset and fans have to make do with leaks and rumors. Joining countless other leaks, a supposed promotional poster for the impending phablet has now surfaced online, which reveals some supposed features.

Promotional poster of Galaxy Note 8 leaked

The poster – shared on Weibo – reveals the front and back faces of the Note 8. While the front display does not offer any new insight into the device’s capabilities, the rear side shows that the handset would likely feature a vertically-aligned dual camera setup.

This is something which has been speculated for a while now and if the poster is legitimate, then the rumor seems to be true.

The image also reveals that Samsung has decided to mount the fingerprint sensor on the rear panel like in the Galaxy S8+ series. Doing so in these devices had led to a backlash from some customers who complained that housing the sensor so close to the rear camera caused accidental brushes on the lens while people tried to activate the fingerprint sensor. However, for the Note 8, the sensor is mounted just below the camera and not beside it, which may reduce the chances of accidentally brushing the lens.

Another notable feature leaked poster is the positioning of the heart rate sensor, which is a staple in all of Samsung’s high-end devices.

According to the image, the heart rate sensor in the Note 8 has been moved above the vertically-aligned dual-rear cameras. This change in position may cause some difficulty for users to reach the sensor, considering the size of the phablet.

However, if the leaked poster is considered to be authentic, the device’s front face and display look similar to the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus from the company.

However, the impending phablet bears a high screen to body ratio due to significantly lesser bezel space at the top and bottom. The Note 8 also sports a slightly curved edge on both sides of its display.

Launch and pricing

According to the latest reports, the Galaxy Note 8 will likely be unveiled by end September and not mid-August. The September launch means that the device will go head-to-head with the iPhone 8. As for the pricing, the phablet will supposedly cost around €999 in Europe and around $900 in the United States.
