The Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ are available for purchase and are finding favor with consumers. While the Galaxy Note 7 was a PR nightmare for the company, Samsung will look to impress consumers and save its brand image with the next-gen model dubbed the Galaxy Note 8.

Rumors pertaining to the phablet are surfacing frequently and the latest leak details the display size for the impending smartphone.

Galaxy Note 8 display details leaked?

A leak on Weibo – the Chinese equivalent of Twitter – hints at the display size for the Galaxy Note 8. The report states that the impending phablet will sport a slightly bigger display than the Galaxy S8+.

The Galaxy S8+ sports a 6.2-inch display and the Galaxy Note 8 is expected to boast a slightly bigger 6.3-inch screen.

If the display size is akin to that of the Galaxy S8+ as hinted, then the screen’s aspect ratio is likely to be the same. This suggests the Note series phablet would feature the same 18.5:9 aspect ratio. Lesser aspect ratios with a device as tall as the Galaxy Note 8 would make it impossible to hold in one hand.

Camera rumors

The Weibo post also includes a reference to the camera setup for the upcoming Samsung phablet. The post suggests that the device would come with dual-rear cameras. This is in line with previous rumors. It is also speculated that the cameras on the phablet are better than the ones housed in the iPhone 7.

Expected specs

The Note 8 will likely feature curved edge displays similar to the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ and is also expected to sport minimal bezels. Moreover, the 6.3-inch display will likely support Quad HD+ resolution. The smartphone is expected to house a Snapdragon 835 or the Exynos 8895 processor. The same processors power the new flagships from Samsung.

Much like the Galaxy S8+ and Galaxy S8, the Note 8 will also likely have a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. However, considering Samsung faced criticism for placing the sensor beside the rear-facing camera, the company may change the position. The handset will also likely come with 6 GB of RAM and 256 GB of storage capacity.

Other features include Android 7.1.2 Nougat support at launch, a 3,600 mAh battery, and 12MP rear and 13MP front-facing cameras. The Note 8 is also rumored to be IP68 certified, making it dust and water resistant. Some reports indicate that the phone would support wireless charging. However, these are just rumors and must be taken with a grain of salt.
