The Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017 has started in Barcelona. However, popular companies such as Nokia, LG, Huawei, BlackBerry created a huge buzz on the media by unveiling a wide range of products one day ahead of the scheduled event. In this article, we will take a quick look at the smartphones launched at MWC 2017.
Nokia
Nokia is back after a lull with the launch of a revamped version of the vintage Nokia 3310 (EUR 49) in Warm Red, Yellow, Dark Blue and Grey color variants. Touted as a feature phone, the Nokia 3310 features a 2.4-inch color display, 16MB expandable internal storage, 2MP Rear Camera, 2G connectivity loaded with Nokia Series 30+ platform.
The phone is powered by a 1200mAh battery and will offer FM radio and MP3 Player with 3.5mm AV connector. The highlight of the phone is the addition of the classic snake game.
Nokia 6 (EUR 229) features a 5.5-inch FHD IPS Sculpted Corning Gorilla Glass display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable internal storage, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing shooter, 3000mAh loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat. Nokia 6 will also be available in Arte Black glossy limited edition in 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage.
Nokia 5 (EUR 189) is equipped with a 5.2-inch HD Corning Gorilla Glass protected 500-nits display, Snapdragon 430 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable storage, 13MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing snapper, 3000mAh battery loaded with Android 7.1.1 Nougat.
The phone will be available in Matte Black, Silver, Tempered Blue, and Copper color variants.
Nokia 3 (EUR 139) offers a 5-inch IPS HD 2.5D display, MTK 6737 processor, 2GB RAM, 16GB expandable internal storage, 8MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing shooter, 2650mAh battery loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat. The phone will hit retail markets in Silver White, Matte Black, Tempered Blue, and Copper White color variants.
The newly launched phones will hit retail shelves throughout the world in Q2 2017.
BlackBerry KEYone
BlackBerry in association with TCL has launched KEYone smartphone with a fingerprint-enabled physical keyboard and large display. The handset ($549) features a 4.5-inch FHD IPS display, Snapdragon 625 processor, Adreno 506 graphics, 3GB RAM, 32GB expandable storage, 12MP rear camera, 8MP front-facing snapper, 3505mAh fast charging battery loaded with Android 7.1 Nougat.
Huawei
Huawei has launched the much-awaited flagship P10 and Plus smartphones. You will find the difference in display and battery in both handsets. While the Huawei P10 (EUR 649) is equipped with a 5.1-inch IPS FHD display paired with 432PPI and 3200mAh battery, the Huawei P10 Plus (EUR 699) ships with a 5.5-inch IPS 2K display with a 534PPI density and 3750mAh battery capacity. The other features of the phone are Kirin 960 processor, Mali-G71 MP8 graphics, 4GB RAM, 64GB expandable internal storage, 20MP+12MP dual rear camera and 8MP selfie snapper. The company will also launch 6GB RAM and 128GB storage model of P10 Plus.
Huawei also launched Watch 2 and Classic models (EUR 329) with a 1.2-inch display, 420mAh battery, dust, and water resistant features, alongside a hybrid strap.
With availability in April, the company will also launch a Porsche designed Watch 2 before the end of Q3 2017.
LG
As expected, LG G6 has been launched with a non-modular 5.7-inch IPS QHD (1440x2880) display, Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB RAM, 32GB/64GB storage, dual 13MP sensor, 5MP front-facing snapper. Powered by a 3300mAh fast charging battery, the phone comes loaded with Android 7.0 Nougat alongside wireless charging support capability.
In addition to the phones mentioned above, Lenovo also launched Moto G5 and Moto G5 Plus with a 5-inch and 5.2-inch display alongside 2800mAh and 3000mAh battery with global availability in March. While the G5 is equipped with a Snapdragon 430 processor, 2/3GB RAM, 16/32GB storage and 2800mAh battery, the G5 Plus ships with a Snapdragon 625 processor, 2/3/3GB RAM, 32/64GB storage, 13MP/5MP camera powered by a 3000mAh fast charging battery.
