The 2019 WWE Royal Rumble is upon us. This Sunday, 30 men and 30 women go all out at the center of the ring for the right to face the champion of their choice at the Grand Daddy of Them All, Wrestlemania 35, at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Aside from the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble match, seven championships are on the line in the pay-per-view event at Chase Field in Phoenix, Arizona.

Brock Lesnar will stake his WWE Universal title against the ultimate underdog and former title-holder, Finn Balor. The WWE championship is also hanging in the balance as Daniel Bryan looks to put AJ Styles away for good in their rematch.

The Matches

Rusev vs. Shinsuke Nakamura for United States Championship – Rusev Day All Day! The Bulgarian Brute will win his rubber match with Shinsuke Nakamura and face perhaps Jeff Hardy or another big Surprise at the Royal Rumble. Who knows it could be Kenny Omega. LOL

The BAR vs Shane McMahon and the Miz for SmackDown Tag-Team Championship – The BAR is winning this one for the reason that the odd pairing of Shane O’Mac and the Miz are reportedly scheduled in an eventual Wrestlemania one-on-one match. Too bad, we won’t see Daniel Bryan as heel facing a face Miz at Mania. Curse you Shane O’Mac!

Ronda Rousey vs. Sasha Banks for RAW Women’s Championship – It’s hard to bet against Ronda Rousey on this one.

She’s the super-champion here and there’s no way she would allow Banks to pin him less than four months ahead of his rumored Wrestlemania main event match with Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair. On the other hand, I have a gut feeling that Banks will pull off an upset courtesy of distractions from Lynch and Flair. Yup, it’s a payback to what she did to them at TLC.

If this happens, I still believe Rousey vs. Lynch vs. Flair triple threat match deserves a Mania main event with or without a title. It’s all about the star power baby….

Asuka vs. Becky Lynch for SmackDown Women’s Championship – It’s the Empress of Tomorrow winning this one because no one is ready for her…and of course, Lynch has much bigger things ahead of her.

Daniel Bryan vs. AJ Styles for WWE Championship– And still your WWE World Champion – the New Daniel Bryan. Okay, just finish this boring feud and let Styles spend his last few years on WWE’s A-show, Monday Night RAW. I mean, there’s a ton of great matches to make here. Styles vs. Rollins, maybe?

Buddy Murphy vs. Akira Tozawa vs. Hideo Itami vs. Kalisto for Cruiserweights Championship – Murphy because he’s Alexa Bliss’ boyfriend, period…

Brock Lesnar vs. Finn Balor for WWE Universal Championship – My heart is saying Finn Balor but my mind is shouting Brock Lesnar. I go with Brock because you can’t deny Vince really loves big, sweaty guys.

The Main Event

Women’s Royal Rumble Match– I got Charlotte, Becky Lynch, Alexa Bliss, and Nia Jax in my final four.

As I mentioned, I do believe the winner will neither Charlotte nor Becky since Rousey would no longer be the RAW champion at this time. So, it seems Bliss is going to take the win again here and face Sasha Banks again? What a bummer…but it’s looking like it.

Predicted Surprise Entrants: Lita, Trish Stratus, Melina, Shayna Bazzler and Toni Storm.

Men’s Royal Rumble Match – Seth Rollins, Dean Ambrose, Drew McIntyre, and the surprise entrant Batista as my final four. Rollins and Ambrose killing each other while McIntyre dealing with the Animal Batista. Then, Triple H comes out of nowhere and clotheslines Batista out of the ring to set up the rumored Wrestlemania feud.

Rollins and Ambrose set aside their animosity for a moment to eliminate McIntyre.

The two former Shield brothers death stare at each other one last time before they mercilessly pummel each other head. Both superstars hit their finishers. Ambrose connected with the Dirty Deeds. Rollins with the Curb Stomp. In the end, it is the Architect who rises from the ashes and wins the whole thing. Brock Lesnar’s music hits and the Beast Incarnate sends Rollins to Suplex City. The camera zooms in on Lesnar, who relishes the beatdown he gave to his Wrestlemania foe.

Predicted Surprise Entrants: Batista, Velveteen Dream, Matt Riddle, Lars Sullivan, Johnny Gargano, Tommaso Ciampa and Ricochet.
