NBA rumors present some bad news about Kevin Love to Cleveland Cavaliers fans and fantasy basketball owners. The All-Star power forward went through a surgery on Friday (November 2), with the early prognosis that he may not play in another Cavs game until 2019.

A report by CBS Sports just stated that Kevin Love had surgery on his left toe, an injury that will keep him out for a bit of time. The early schedule for his rehab is that he will be re-evaluated in roughly six weeks. At that point, a timetable will be set for Love's return to the court.

With no rush to get him back, the Cavs may not play him again until January.

This is just more bad news for a Cavs team that has started the 2018-19 NBA season quite ugly. Being without Love for November, and likely most of December is going to be tough for fans to take. The silver lining is that it is going to let the younger players get more minutes. That won't be any consolation to fantasy basketball owners that selected Kevin Love in early rounds of drafts this year.

Cleveland Cavaliers trade rumors

It's no secret that there have already been NBA rumors involving Kevin Love this season. He is a player getting paid a lot of money to play for a team that has no shot at making the postseason.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are undergoing another youth movement, again, as a result of LeBron James heading to the Los Angeles Lakers. Dealing Love would help clear the decks, but it won't be possible to generate interest until he is healthy again.

Love isn't the only player appearing in Cavs trade rumors, either. J.R. Smith has stated that he wants out of Cleveland.

He doesn't want a buyout, so that puts the front office of Cleveland in a difficult position. There aren't a lot of teams that would want to pay the full salary of Smith, so finding a lot of interest on the trade market won't be a simple endeavor.

Fantasy basketball tips this season

The loss of Kevin Love is going to be tough for a lot of fantasy basketball owners to take.

The quick solution is to look for Tristan Thompson in free agency, as he could be a quick fix in terms of rebounds. He won't score as many points, but he can be a stop-gap solution until Love can return to the court. It's also time to make sure that Collin Sexton is on a roster, as the rookie is going to get a lot of playing time in the absence of Love.

Getting back to the NBA rumors about what the Cavs might do, players like Kyle Korver could also be on their way out of Cleveland. He is a veteran shooter who could help a lot of teams, and it might just take a future draft pick to pry him away from the Cavs. As it stands, there are going to be a lot of NBA rumors that include the Cleveland Cavaliers as the 2019 NBA trade deadline approaches this February.
