Matthew Vaughn was a big up-and-coming movie director after he broke out with the Neil Gaiman adaptation of "Stardust" and then he turned his attention to comic book Movies. Most fans know Vaughn from rebooting the X-Men franchise with "X-Men: First Class" but he has now gone all in on the comic book properties of Mark Millar. Vaughn directed the first "Kick-Ass" film before handing the franchise off to Jeff Wadlow, who created a lesser film in "Kick-Ass 2." Vaughn then took on "Kingsman: The Secret Service" and held on to that franchise to direct the second movie in that series last year.

Now, Vaughn sounds like all he plans to do is work on Mark Millar properties.

Mark Millar

For those unfamiliar with Mark Millar, he is a former Marvel Comics writer who worked on "Fantastic Four," "X-Men," "Spider-Man" and more. He wrote the Marvel "Civil War" comic book event series and was instrumental in the Ultimate Marvel Universe comics.

The movies based on his work is growing by the year. He wrote the comic book story "Old Man Logan" that was the inspiration for the 2017 movie "Logan." His "Civil War" story was the inspiration for that third Captain America movie and his work on the Ultimates was part of the basis for the movie version of The Avengers.

When it comes to his own properties, published outside of the big comic book houses, Millar has the "Kick-Ass" series that has two movies so far, "Kingsman," which has two movies and a third in development, and "Wanted," which was turned into a movie starring James McAvoy and Angelina Jolie.

In 2017, Netflix signed a deal to produce properties from Millarworld.

New 'Kingsman' and 'Kick-Ass'

In an interview with Empire, Matthew Vaughn said that he is going to reboot "Kick-Ass" and instead of the original character of Kick-Ass, he will use the single mother who takes over that mantle in Mark Millar's comics. He also said that they will reboot Hit-Girl as well for the new movies.

The movie will be part of Marv Studios and will also include more "Kingsman" movies. The third film from the "Kingsman" series by Vaughn will feature Eggsy and Harry Hart back in action. However, Vaughn has big plans for a "KIngsman" universe of movies, which he said will include "Kingsman: The Great Game" which will take place in the early 1900's about the early years of the organization.

Also, Matthew Vaughn said there will be a "Kingsman" spin-off movie for the American group with Channing Tatum, and then an eight-hour TV series -- which likely will be one of the Netflix properties.
