While she’s concerned with the health of her husband Tom Brady, supermodel Gisele Bundchen assured New England Patriots fans that she will not interfere in the veteran quarterback’s decision when it comes to his career and his retirement. “It’s his decision and he knows it,” Bundchen told the Wall Street Journal. During the interview, Bundchen said she’s entitled to her concerns about Brady’s health because of their three children. “If you don’t have your health, what do you have?” said Bundchen. However, the supermodel said she wants Brady to be happy, that’s why she’s allowing him to decide when he wants to retire.

Earlier, Brady told Patriots team owner Robert Kraft that he plans to play until he’s 45 years old. Previously, Greg Bishop of Sports Illustrated reported that Bundchen allegedly asked one of Brady’s friends, kicker Jay Feely, to convince the veteran quarterback to retire. However, Feely did not heed Bundchen’s request, even asking Brady to play as long as he can.

Bundchen said Brady is focused on next season

Bundchen also revealed that Brady is focused right now on regaining the team’s winning ways after losing to the Philadelphia Eagles, 41-33, in Super Bowl LII. The loss prevented Brady from winning his sixth Super Bowl ring. “He has a laser focus on just winning and being the best,” Bundchen said.

Last season, Brady led the league in passing yards and passing touchdowns. The 40-year-old quarterback completed 385-of-581 passes for 4,577 yards and 32 touchdowns with eight interceptions en route to his third MVP trophy. In three playoff games, he completed 89-of-139 passes for 1,132 yards and eight touchdowns with no interceptions, but the Patriots were outplayed by the Eagles in Super Bowl LII.

Contrary to her earlier behavior in Super Bowl XLVI, Bundchen was gracious in defeat this time as she congratulated every Eagles player that she ran into.

Belichick talks about Brady’s contract

Brady is signed with the Patriots through the 2019 season, but he usually signs an extension with two years remaining on his deal. However, he did not sign an extension last season, meaning that his salary is counted for $22 million against the cap.

When asked about Brady’s contract, head coach Bill Belichick refused to go into detail, saying he doesn’t talk about contracts and personal situations. “We’ll just let that one go, along with all the other contract questions,” said Belichick. The Patriots are also expected to take a quarterback at some point in the 2018 NFL Draft, but Belichick hasn’t confirmed it, saying he will do what is best for the team.
