The Chicago Bulls suffered yet another blowout loss Friday night (Nov. 24) as they fell 143-94, in Oakland, to the Golden State Warriors. There was little doubt that Steve Kerr's squad would pounce on the worst team in the NBA, but that was not the topic of conversation Friday. A lot of attention is on Warrior's power forward Jordan Bell. The rookie was drafted by the Bulls but traded away to the Warriors for $3.5 million in cash considerations.
Bell, facing the team that drafted him, reassured everyone that he did not forget what he was traded away for. Late in the game, Bell made a basket and drew a foul. He then proceeded to troll the Bulls as he stepped to the line and mouthed,"three-point-five," apparently indicating the sum for which he was traded over the summer. This not only mocked the franchise for their questionable decision but also showed them what kind of skilled player they are missing out on. This was also Bell's first career start.
Bell's trolling
There was little doubt that Bell would remember being traded for cash considerations after being taken 38th overall by Chicago in the 2017 NBA Draft.
Even though he is now on a much better team and has a chance to win a championship in his rookie year, it is still something players do not forget. Bell did not hold back in the post-game presser as he talked to ESPN's Baxter Holmes.
"I was just mainly focused on the basketball game and trying to win it," Bell said. "Then when I saw we won the game, I started to troll a little bit." The gesture was made with less than two minutes left in the game and the score well out of reach for the Bulls. Bell added in the presser that Klay Thompson kept reminding him that the Bulls did not want him and that he should go out and show them what they are missing.
"Yeah, I just wanted to see how 'cash considerations' was playing over there." Ouch.
Bulls struggles
The Bulls are currently holding the worst record in the NBA at 3-14. They have the worst point-differential in the NBA at -12.9 and the second-lowest points-per-game average at 94.4. This does not come as much of a surprise, as the team is in year one of a rebuild. It still does not make it pleasant for fans.
Other than rookie Lauri Markannen and Kris Dunn, there has not been much to watch. The drama between Bobby Portis and Nikola Mirotic still has not been resolved, which puts the team in even more of a rough spot. There is anticipation to see Zach LaVine's Bulls debut once he is healthy, but it still will not turn the team around.
