The Phoenix Suns are expected to trade Eric Bledsoe anytime now after the veteran point guard asked for a way out. While the Toronto Raptors are not being mentioned amongst the likely landing spots, Raptors Rupture argued that Toronto should consider trading for the 27-year-old playmaker.

Why the Raptors should offer Jonas Valanciunas

The Suns are reportedly looking for young assets in any deal for Bledsoe. While the Raptors do not have much to offer at this point, Raptors Rupture pointed out that putting Jonas Valanciunas on the table could turn the tides in favor of Toronto.

According to the report, the Suns may ask for more assets than just Valanciunas. However, they might eventually agree to a one-on-one deal, knowing that Valanciunas could make a good impact on the team moving forward. It was pointed out that receiving a starting center in exchange for a disgruntled star might be too good to pass up for Phoenix.

It appears the Raptors might be ready to give up Valanciunas, who only averaged 23 minutes in their first two games. In those two appearances, the Lithuanian center averaged 14.0 points and 9.5 rebounds.

The Raptors will lose a traditional center in the process. But on the flip side, Bledsoe could add more scoring punch to Toronto, which could give them a better chance of going deep into the playoffs this season.

Bledsoe is considered to be one of the best two-way guards in the league. In 66 games last season, the former Kentucky standout averaged 21.1 points on top of 6.3 assists and 4.8 rebounds per game.

How about the Los Angeles Clippers?

Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Clippers were also mentioned as one of the teams where Bledsoe could fit in.

Clippers center DeAndre Jordan had a Twitter post that looked like a response to one of Bledsoe’s controversial tweets. “Come back home bro,” Jordan posted.

Bledsoe started his career with the Clippers, where played three seasons together with Jordan. If Bledsoe finds himself returning to the Clippers, the Alabama native is expected to have a bigger role in the team than before, especially since Los Angeles traded Chris Paul in the offseason.

However, a Bledsoe trade to the Clippers is a long shot at this point, Sir Charles In Charge noted. The Clippers do not have any attractive assets to convince Phoenix. They could offer Patrick Beverley and a future pick, but the Suns are expected to get a better offer elsewhere.
